The gauge is located about ten metres above the ground in a tree behind the Mt Blackheath glider takeoff. It records the wind speed and direction at intervals of approximately ten seconds, and reports the data every ten minutes. The data collected in the ten minutes preceding each time stamp are plotted.
The value "Still" is the percentage of observations in which no air movement was detected. Wind speeds in excess of the y-axis range are not plotted, but the percentage of such observations are reported as ">6 m/s", ">25km/h", or ">12 knots", depending on which unit is selected. "Max" refers to the maximum wind speed.
The data are not guaranteed to be correct and should not be used in making a decision of whether to take off or not.
